About Antoinette
Antoinette Morrison relies upon over 30 years of experience in Music Therapy and various other roles she has held in education and development. Antoinette is currently the Founder and owner of her private practice, Back Mountain Music Therapy-The Heyward Rooms, LLC, in which she employs and oversees 2 other clinicians besides herself.
Back Mountain Music Therapy is accredited by the ICDL (International Counsel of Development and Learning) in DIR Floor-time, and all clinicians there have certifications in DIR Floor- time and Music Therapy. Locally, Back Mountain Music Therapy has made presentations to local Universities on Music Therapy, and presentations on working with children. Antoinette previously spent almost 10 years as the clinical Music Therapy Supervisor at Marywood University where she supervised students in 1:1 clinical Music Therapy. In addition, she taught the clinical improvisational music therapy class, supervised students at various education and rehabilitation sites and supervised and trained her own interns at Back Mountain Music Therapy. Antoinette became a Board-Certified Music Therapist in 1990, and from there held positions as a primary therapist at Northeast Tri-county Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center, music therapist in her private practice, a partial hospitalization teacher at Vitalistic and a Therapeutic Center of the Lehigh Valley. She taught preschool at Gate of Heaven Parochial School in Dallas, Pa for five years; provided contractual music therapy services at Northeast Intermediate Unit and at Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18 and Wyoming Valley Children’s association. In addition, in her own time, Antoinette lead and accompanied various children’s and adult choirs on the side.

The Medical Association (AMA), has adopted a resolution (Resolution 706), entitled “Revision of H-185.921”, Removal of AMA support for Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy ( [AMA], 2023, pp. 1179-1182). The new policy includes all evidenced based therapies including DIR Floor time .
As a DIR-Floortime accredited organization, Back Mountain Music Therapy is a client-led, Developmental-Relationship based Therapy, that cultivates attention, self-regulation, engagement, and communication through relating in a safe, predictable environment.
