About Cheryl
Cheryl Craigie is an independent singer, songwriter, and musician. She was born and raised in a suburb of Boston, MA. From an early age, Cheryl was surrounded by music, thanks to her father—a New England Conservatory graduate who could play the piano by ear. The melodies that filled their home sparked her deep love for music, as she often joined her father in impromptu performances, singing while he played.
After high school, Cheryl attended college, earned a degree in finance, and began a career as an accountant. However, lifelong struggles with debilitating migraines cut her career short and forced her to leave the traditional workforce. Stepping away from the 9-to-5 grind gave Cheryl the opportunity to focus her energy on music, providing an outlet for relaxation and reflection.
In 2016, she met her producer, Eric Goldberg, who expanded her musical talents by teaching her piano and music production, and encouraged her to share her work with the world. Under his guidance, Cheryl began releasing her original music and recording covers of songs that deeply resonated with her.
Her passion for composing original music has blossomed in recent years. Her most recent song, Migraine, offers a deeply personal perspective on living with the chronic, incapacitating pain of migraines—a disease still not well understood or effectively treated by modern medicine. Through her music, Cheryl aims to elevate the conversation surrounding this prevalent yet often underestimated illness.
Speaking about the inspiration behind Migraine, Cheryl emphasizes the need for greater awareness and empathy for migraine sufferers.
“Unfortunately, migraines have been front and center in my life for several decades,” she says. “Migraines are more than just headaches; they profoundly impact one’s quality of life. My hope is that this song helps raise awareness of the effects of this disease.”
Migraine is Cheryl’s third original composition, further showcasing her versatility as an artist. She has built a reputation as a skilled singer-songwriter, earning praise for previous releases—including her heartfelt cover of Lauren Daigle’s Rescue. Incorporating genres from ballads to rap, Cheryl’s work carries a consistent thread of passion and sincerity. Both her originals and her covers evoke unique, powerful responses from listeners, and Migraine is yet another example of her ability to create earnest, meaningful music.
Each of Cheryl’s songs reflects on love, life, and personal experience, evoking deep emotion. To date, she has co-produced seven songs with Eric Goldberg. Migraine stands as a testament to her dedication to making music that connects with her audience.
